9 Art
Year 9 Art introduces students to art movements, styles, techniques and themes. We begin with 'Art as…”, exploring different of functions of art – art as magic (ancient art), art as illusion (Cubism) and art as self-expression (urban/street art). In “Dreamscape”, students learn about the Surrealists to execute a creative ‘dream’ landscape painting. In the “Print It!” unit, we will appraise t-shirt designs and learn printing techniques to create unique t-shirts.

10 Art
Visual Art offers a unique way for students to communicate and connect with their world using critical and creative thinking. Across the media areas of painting, printing, drawing and digital art, students make and appraise artworks to extend their technical skills and understanding of composition, art history and visual art concepts.
There are three units in the course:
"Art force" is a composition painting unit where students develop original designs for traffic signal boxes (TSBs) around South-East Queensland.
In "MyPod", students learn graphic design to develop a unique iPod logo using printing and digital art techniques. Students then develop a range of MyPod merchandise to promote their logo.
In "MySpace", students respond to the theme of personal stories and cultural heritage in developing an artwork about themselves in a preferred media area.

10 Digital Art & Design
Digital Art & Design is a creative course that should appeal to students with an interest in digital photography, visual art, and web site design. The course introduces students to the techniques and aesthetics of digital art, photo-manipulation, and web design through a series of guided tutorials and tasks in an 'online classroom' environment.
In the “Digital Art” unit, students learn about composition, digital photography and photo-manipulation techniques to create themed digital images using Corel Paintshop Pro Photo.
The “Design Folio” unit gives students the option to present their digital artworks in either an original and interactive web site or interactive application/presentation. Students will learn how to design and publish a dynamic HTML website involving javascript and unique graphic content.
11 Visual Art
11 VSA/1 is the foundation of the two year Authority subject, Visual Art. In year eleven, we explore aesthetics, visual styles and a broad range of techniques, materials and processes. Units are organised by 'concepts', and throughout the year we will investigate objects, significant places, homage and cycles.

12 Visual Art
Year 12 Art allows students to specialise in 'Bodies of Work'. A Body of Work encompasses both practical and theoretical work and is based on personal interpretations of given themes/concepts. The Body of Work themes are (a) Manhood, and (b) Journey. Students may work in any media area as they research, develop, resolve and reflect on highly individualised visual responses to the concept/s. Innovation is the key to success!
